A music photographer since 2002, I have shot innumerable bands in a wide variety of venues. I have shot many “big names,” but nothing makes me happier than my Chicago locals. I love to capture all aspects of music, and therefore, will often pull my camera out at recording sessions, band meetings, in vans en route to shows, backstage, and all sorts of other random places, in addition to the photo pit during a live show.
My photo collection (and blog) is filled with gritty pictures taken in dive bars, because music isn’t always about sold out crowds and arenas. I’ve been lucky to run into others that feel this way, and as such, I have had my own photoblog on Spin.com, regularly contribute to theywillrockyou.com, and have been published editorially locally and internationally.
I also do wedding and portrait photography because I like it too. I’m multifaceted.
And because I am always asked, my regularly used equipment is:
Canon 5D Mark II (x2)
