I had been wanting to see Paramore for a while by the time I finally was able to…. and I was not disappointed. They’re just a fun band that you can’t help but sing along to.
A fun little tidbit from the show: The House of Blues stage is actually several floors up in the building (which is on the riverfront), so when the large crowd starts jumping, the floor literally starts moving. I have shot countless shows at House of Blues and have witnessed the floor moving several times… this was the first time that I was actually worried it was going to cave. No one can say that Paramore doesn’t get their fans excited and jumping.
Shooting Notes
I was given the wrong pass initially, so I spent the first song and half frantically getting it sorted out, meaning that I was only able to shoot a song and a half (pesky three song limits). While I was quite sad that I missed out on even a minute of shooting the high-energy set, I managed to get some good shots in the five minutes I had to shoot…. the lighting was fantastic, Haley was running around the stage striking epic poses left and right. They were an amazing band to photograph.
This set was a while ago, back in October of last year, but I would assume that their stage show is still the same. I shot most of this with my 16-35mm as Haley favored the front of the stage, plus I wanted to get in some of the epic stage lighting. I would also recommend faster than average shutter speeds, as I did have a few shots that were ruined by motion blur.
