Treaty of Paris @ The House

Treaty of Paris is always one of my favorite concerts to go to.  Not only are they fun, but they’re one of those bands that actually care about their fans.  They can always be seen hanging around before and after shows, giving hugs, and talking to whomever wants to talk to them.  This show was especially good, because they haven’t been playing a lot lately since they’ve been recording.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?  Definitely missed them.

ToP is releasing their new EP, Currents, on January 9th with a HUGE show at the Metro, for more info about it (and a way to get a free print from me!) visit this post.

Shooting Notes

Oh, The House Cafe. It’s a cafe… with a stage. It’s not meant to have large venue lighting.  If you’re going to see a concert, it’s great.  Really intimate, plus, you can get yummy coffee, tea, and food between sets (the pita & hummus there is my FAVORITE!).   If you’re going to shoot a concert, bring primes.  These were shot with the 35mm f/1.4 & 135mm f/2 – both wide open, at 1/125, with ISOs ranging between 4000-6400.  However, despite the dim lighting, the House sometimes gives good opportunities to get some crowd in the shot, since it is such an intimate place.

Oh, and there really are more than 3 members in the band … sorry Nick & Phil, I couldn’t get a spot on the other side of the stage!
