Joey Marcantonio

I know Joey through a mutual friend, but we met for the first time when we did these promos.  Joey is a great guy, who just loves music.  We had a lot of fun talking and getting to know each other during the shoot. I’m looking forward to working with him more in the future.

Joey just released a CD – you can download it for free (or just listen to it) here.

Treaty of Paris @ The House

Treaty of Paris is always one of my favorite concerts to go to.  Not only are they fun, but they’re one of those bands that actually care about their fans.  They can always be seen hanging around before and after shows, giving hugs, and talking to whomever wants to talk to them.  This show was especially good, because they haven’t been playing a lot lately since they’ve been recording.  Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?  Definitely missed them.

ToP is releasing their new EP, Currents, on January 9th with a HUGE show at the Metro, for more info about it (and a way to get a free print from me!) visit this post.

Snowsera @ Subterranean

This is a bit of an old set (back from the early fall – oh warmth!), but I’ve been meaning to post it for a while. Backstage photos are always my favorite. For this set, I just asked Snowsera if they minded if I hung out with them a bit before their show, and they graciously welcomed me. I love the look of Subterranean, and spending some time with the Snowsera guys is always a treat!

Jet @ House of Blues

Jet headlined this show at House of Blues, with Kill Hannah opening. There was a stark difference between Kill Hannah’s moody lighting and dramatic performance and Jet’s bright colors and no-frills stage presence. With so many bands nowadays using gimmicks or over-the-top performances to secure fans, it was nice to see just a plain good show. If you haven’t seen them, Jet sounds live exactly like they sound recorded, which isn’t always the case. Basically, it was a good show, which is always nice when you go in not knowing what to expect.

AM Taxi @ The Metro

It’s been a while since I’ve posted something other than sneak peeks, contests, or info about publication. I’ve been a busy girl with the other side of my photography business, but things have calmed down for a while (harder to do outdoor shoots and weddings in the Chicago winter), so I’m back to editing concert photos… expect more updates now!

This set was from the last time I shot AM Taxi, who never fail to be true rockstars. Chicago boys, AM Taxi (formerly American Taxi) were picked up by Virgin Records a while ago, and have just finished recording their first label-produced CD, which will be released sometime in Spring 2010.
