Treaty of Paris is recording their new album, which I’m very excited about. Even better, they’re recording it with my Last Fast Action buddies in LFA’s studio – Audioisking. One day after work, I dropped by the studio to take a few shots and hang out and listen to some of the new stuff. These shots are the result.
Shooting notes
These are mostly in b&w for two reasons – firstly, I’ve always loved behind-the-scenes stuff in b&w, secondly, the studio is DARK. They like to keep a “vibe” going (aka, all the lights off), and whenever I try to turn up the lights, I get branded a “vibe killer.”
I didn’t want to use flash because they were recording, and I wanted to limit distractions, so I just slapped on my 35mm f/1.4, kept it wide open, jacked up my ISO to 6400, and dropped my shutter between 1/40-1/60. Then I had to push the pictures a bit in Photoshop. But hey, we kept the vibe, and that’s all that matters.
