Named after the film by the same name, Ladyhawke brought a different vibe to the Perez Hilton Tour than the opening bands. Laid back and ambient, the singer-songwriter seemed shy, but very into her melodic music. While it seemed a bit odd to pair her with bands such as Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head and Semi-Precious Weapons, I still enjoyed her set. (more…)

Just a quick one from the Kill Hannah show earlier this week. It’s going to be a little while before I can post the rest, and I’ve had a few people ask me to see them, so here’s a taste!

This show was amazing for many reasons.
First of all, it was Frantic’s yearly charity show for Share Your Soles – a foundation that provides shoes to those in need. The shows that they put on every year, entitled Shoehouse Rock, are always fun, plus it’s good to know that the money for the ticket is going to a good cause.
Second of all, there were robots on stage. HUGE robots. Robots with eyes that lit up.
Third of all, Matt Skiba from Akaline Trio came out on stage and sang “I Wanna Be Sedated” with The Frantic. Not only was it just cool, but the band was also really excited, which made it even more exciting! (more…)
I first remember seeing The Scissors a years ago, in a small suburban bar. It’s surprising I’ve only seen them a time or two since. Despite several line-up changes, they’ve been around forever! A definite fixture of the local scene.
