The headlining act on the Harley Davidson stage, Rise Against helped close out the first night of Summerfest in Milwaukee. The Chicago band played to a field full of loud screaming fans, many of whom had camped out at the stage all day just to get a good spot. As I’ve blogged before, The Frantic is a super fun punk-esque band out of Chicago. I had contacted them about shooting their show at House of Blues on June 19th, but then they countered with an offer to shoot some backstage stuff as well. I jumped at the chance. Not only does House of Blues have fantastic color in their band rooms, but The Frantic and their entourage are awesome. (more…)
This show was the kick off for the tour that The High Life just left for. A Chicago band that was named a band to watch in 2009 by Fearless Radio, this was also the first time I had seen The High Life, and they were different from what I was expecting. Simply put, they played one of the Free Credit Report.com songs… complete with pirate hats.
Basically, they weren’t afraid to have fun onstage. (more…)
The Glide and I have been trying to set up a live shoot for the past year. Literally, a year. It seemed like it wasn’t meant to be, with conflicting schedules, and even a dog bite getting in the way, but finally, we made it happen. (more…)
I’ve been posting so many live pictures, that I thought it was time to change it up a bit.
A few days ago, I picked up the prints from a roll of 120 film that I shot with my Yashica-A TLR. I’m so used to the ease and speed of digital, that it takes me a while to finish up a roll of film, because I often just grab my digital kit and run. I have to make a definite effort to shoot film. So, basically, when I develop a roll of a film, I usually forget what pictures are on it.
