The Sounds @ Double Door

The Sounds played a sold-out show at the Double Door a little over a week ago. It was hot and sweaty, just like a good concert should be. The Scandinavian band wowed their Chicago audience with a set of upbeat songs, ranging from previous well-known hits to some of their newer songs, including their new single, “No One Sleeps When I’m Awake.” (more…)

Last Fast Action @ Metro

Since I’ve blogged about Last Fast Action so many times, I’m not going to do a large show write-up, but I do want to mention that this show was special because Dan Wade, of Chicago band Treaty of Paris, played guitar for this show, just for fun. The guys in Treaty of Paris and LFA have been friends for years, and once in a while they’ll forget what band they’re in, and be a “guest member” of the other band for a day. It’s always a treat to see a different show, and see how other band members interpret things.

Tinted Windows @ Double Door

I had been curious about Tinted Windows for a while, since it is such a star-filled group. The band is made of up Hanson’s Taylor Hanson, Smashing Pumpkin’s James Iha, Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger, and Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos. Since I missed the band at SXSW, I made sure to check them out when I heard that they were coming to Double Door. (more…)
