Last Friday, I shot Bottle of Justus at the House of Blues in Chicago. Bottle of Justus, despite being from Bloomington-Normal, IL (a few hours south of Chicago), is to me, a Chicago band. This show took place on the coldest day I think I have ever experienced in my 26 years of life. With the ever famous Chicago windchill, the temperature was -33, and you better believe that the wind was blowing.
Why is this important to a show review?
The show still sold out. Enough people cared about the three bands playing this show that they braved the weather. Even more impressive is the fact that there was a line outside the venue before the doors opened, and almost literally froze to death. Hey, anything for a good show, right? (more…)
A bit before Christmas, someone requested a book of Quietdrive photos from me for their personal collection. What a great idea! I have a ton of Quietdrive images – a bunch that no one has seen yet, even – so why not put them all together and make a “Quietdrive yearbook” out of them? (more…)
Snowsera asked me to take a few pictures at their holiday show a few weeks ago. I have worked with Snowsera before for promos a while back, and was able to grab just a few shots when they played the Metro recently, but this was the first time I was able to really watch a full show of theirs.
