Scott Sweeney @ The Metro

Opening Cancel Out Cancer was singer/songwriter Scott Sweeney.

I have known Scott for many years, since his old band Saraphine was one of the first bands that I shot when I decided I wanted to be a concert photographer. I have kept in touch with him through the years, as he moved on to the band The Translation after Saraphine ended their musical run, and now as he is trying his hand out at some solo work. (more…)

House of Heroes @ The Metro

Another band on the Cancel Out Cancer bill was House of Heroes, who recently released a full-length album, The End Is Not The End.

To me, compared to the other acts that played that night (including Treaty of Paris, Quietdrive, and Company of Thieves), House of Heroes was slightly lackluster. Last weekend, my husband and I went on a roadtrip to St. Louis. While no great concert photos came out of it, it was a fun trip, so I thought I’d do a blog entry of a slightly different, humorous nature. Therefore, the following are guidelines on how to have a successful roadtrip, in six simple steps. (more…)

Treaty of Paris @ The Metro

Treaty of Paris formed in January of 2005, and since then, has had a multitude of successes. They have the honor of being the only band currently signed to Andrew McMahon’s (of Jack’s Mannequin) label, Airport Tapes and Records, as well as being the only band to participate in Q101’s reality series entitled Breaking The Band. They have packed the Metro, and toured the country with several large acts, including Yellowcard and The Spill Canvas. (more…)
